The house is in a small village called Altandhu, not far from Achilitibuie, on the Coigach peninsula in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland.

SatNavs should be set to postcode IV26 2YR (though this covers a very big area, and the property is some distance north of the postcode point). The property is easy to find, just below the turning for Reiff. Ask anyone in the local community for The Old Schoolhouse and they will be happy to point you the way.

The drive from the nearest large town, Ullapool, takes about 45 minutes and is mostly along a paved, though single-track road through some stunning landscape. See the Google streetview images here

Many of our visitors travel first to Inverness, either flying or on the train. If you are coming up from London, the sleeper is a romantic and fun way to arrive.

It is also possible to travel all the way by public transport. There are buses in the morning and the afternoon six days a week from Inverness to Ullapool and back, operated by Rapsons and Tim Dearman Coaches. The links give the timetables.
